Indian mobile operator Airtel will offer Facebook access in nine regional Indian languages to its prepaid customers across India, free of charge.
Airtel mobile customers who use Facebook on their mobile phones through the browser or native app, will be able to view or upload photos, post status updates, comment and write on walls, and message contacts in Indian languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Existing mobile internet users on Airtel can avail the benefit by visiting the Facebook mobile website m.facebook.com. Customers accessing the mobile internet for the first time need to register at m.facebook.com, to avail the special offer.
